Pee Wee A Rep Team Selection

The selection process for the Pee Wee A Rep team will take place this coming Thursday Nov 27, 2008 from 7 - 8:30 p.m and next Friday from 8:15 - 9:15 p.m Friday Dec 5, 2008 (In our scheduled Pee Wee time slots) Players will be evaluated by a selection team of 4 people while playing 2 house league games. The selection team will consist of the Head Coach (Hughie Ireland) plus three others not having any association with the division (ie not have kids playing in Pee Wee).

It is expected the team will be named on Sunday Dec 7, 2008 and posted to the minor hockey website.

Bantam and Midget Inter-Town Leagues

The 2008-2009 Bantam and Midget Inter-Town Leagues pick up play this month. The Exploits Bantams see first action in Baie Verte November 15 while Exploits Midgets begin the season In Wesleyville November 22. The complete Bantam inter-town schedule is available here.

New Name And Identity For Rep Teams

Teams representing the Exploits Valley Minor Hockey Association in rep team play this season will be known as the Exploits Valley Cataracts. The decision to adopt the name change was made at the Annual General Meeting of the Association in May. In addition, as uniforms are replaced, the new name will be accompanied by new colours and logos. This move is being made to to extend the identity of the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts of the Senior Hockey League throughout the hockey system including EVMHA.  Many other minor hockey association's rep teams already play under the name of the senior team of their community such as the Royals of Corner Brook and the Caps of St. John's.
