Initiation, 2009 -2010

You will notice this season that there are 2 groups- a blue and white group. The executive has decided to use this designation for the 2 groups instead of the traditional initiation 1 and 2. The groups have been separated based on children new to the league (blue) and children with previous experience (white). We have 79 children in total in initiation. The blue group has a few less children in it, however, this may change based on our technical director's assessment after the first few weeks.

Our scheduled ice time for the week of October 12-18 is as follows:

Tuesday, October 13 at 5:45-6:45- initiation white only

Thursday, October 15 at 5:45-6:45- initiation blue only

I will send out the schedule each week as soon as I am notified of our available times (usually Sunday evening). Please follow the schedule which I e-mail instead of following the web site schedule. Based on my own personal experiences over the years, this is the best method of being notified of accurate ice times.

If anyone is planning on coaching throughout the season could you please e-mail me and let me know. We want to have enough coaches for both groups. Also, if you are a new coach you will need a certificate of conduct (which minor hockey will pay for) as well as Speak out training ( to be made available at a later date). Coaches can also avail of the one day coaching clinic which is usually offered at a later date. If anyone coached or went out on the ice last season and does not have the above, you are required to have these as well.

I will have a parent/guardian meeting within the next 2 weeks to discuss any questions or issues you may have, canteen commitments, etc. The time and place of this meeting will be e-mailed to you at a later date.

When you receive this e-mail, could you e-mail me back ASAP so that I can ensure all have received this e-mail. You can also let me know of any spelling errors with regards to names, etc. I am looking forward to being bombarded with 79 e-mail responses:)
